Artist Statement
My creative process is focused on the tactile medium of collage, utilizing disparate materials. Each element is an inspirational prompt, and the work is driven by the freedom to combine and recontextualize found images and objects with no predetermined arrangement or meaning. I occasionally use digital technology to explore how it influences my thinking.
My work is an elusive process of discovery. Each collage evolves through many incarnations of directed randomness combining color, pattern, texture, shape, and form.
There’s an intimacy to the work and an internal negotiation between what endures and what transforms. I enjoy the exploration and find it meaningful to not constrain myself to a specific style or medium.
